camora
Technical specification

Local-first.
No cloud keys.

Camora captures, encrypts, and transfers memories without creating a cloud copy, account, or tracking profile.

No cloud storage

Media is created and stored on your devices, not in a Camora cloud account.

Device-only keys

Vault keys stay protected by the local Keychain and never leave your hardware.

Explicit release

Files leave the vault only after you choose to release or move them.

Vault encryption

AES-256 GCM, sealed locally.

Photos and videos are encrypted immediately after capture. Camora stores encrypted file packages on device and keeps the key hierarchy inside the Apple Keychain.

01

Capture

The camera output is handed directly to the vault pipeline.

02

Encrypt

Each file receives its own AES-256 GCM data key.

03

Seal

File keys are wrapped by a device-protected collection key.

Result

An encrypted file package that is unreadable outside the vault keychain.

Mac

Paired devices only. No cloud relay.

Direct device linking

Nearby transfer without an account.

Camora links your iPhone and Mac over the local network. Your media remains encrypted during transfer and does not pass through Camora infrastructure.

  • No intermediary servers
  • No account login
  • Encrypted transfer stream
  • Devices can be unlinked anytime

Auditable by design.

The product promise is intentionally narrow: keep memories local, encrypt them before storage, and make every export an explicit user action.

Standard CryptoKit primitives

Camora uses platform encryption APIs instead of custom cryptography.

No analytics SDKs

The app is designed without third-party tracking or advertising SDKs.

Local diagnostics

Support reports are generated on the device and shared only by the user.

Own your memories.

Camora works without cloud storage or tracking. Designed for privacy, built for local control.
